Dunno, it seems obvious to me. The SVO was a lighter car, and set up to be a
relatively low-production car aimed at enthusiasts. TCs were heavier, and
geared more to a mainstream buyer, so I could very well see where midrange
torque would be more of an issue.

As for the IC, they used an IHI turbo when they put it in,
smaller and spooled quicker and a bit higher(safely) which is where a good
chunk of the higher power came from. I still can only guess at why the SVO
had so much more power than any of the TC's.
