What rocking effect are you talking about? I don't have it..

I think that you have bad motor mounts..

All MTXs have that 'rocking' effect when you let off the gas, but my SHO
is really really bad. Also, when driving in heavy rain or snow, I feel
as though I become disconnected from the road at times, with the car
jerking one way or another. Finally, when turning a corner, or spinning
tires too much (wheel hop), I get this horrible sense of disconnection.

Anybody have any idea? My only theories right now are motor mounts,
tranny mount, maybe something in the front end suspension? Maybe all
the above?

I have a '91, 103k.

Thanks,
Eric
