Any have any experience removing the ignition lock cylinder on a key that
doesn't have a key? No it's not for illegal purposes. A friend just
purchased a non running 89 SHO. It appears he got screwed on getting the
right keys to the car. Previous owner denies having any other keys for the
car. So we decided to follow the Helm's manual procedure for removing the
ignition lock from the steering column. Granted my Helm's is for the 95 SHO
I would assume the 89's had the same lock mechanism? Also we eventually got
it started (ignition lock needs to come out) and it wasn't that great, and
the CE light was on. Ran the codes and came up with 22 and 24. I'm still
trying to figure out with sensor the MAP sensor it. Also I have found 2
different connectors unpluged. One of them appears to be in the ACT, MAF,
and TPS (i think) wiring harness. The car had a previous alarm installed in
it which the alarm horn appears to have been just ripped out. We could not
start the car until we disabled the alarm (keys didn't have anything to do
with alarm either). And I didn't hear the owner state anything about an
alarm in the car, granted I was just with a friend and he was the one talking
to him at the time. Any ideas on the two? Thanks!
