Yes, measure the distance from outside side wall of the two tires in the
front and back (of the same tire and make marks). Then just set toe
correctly when done with the install.

Now the tie rod end just control the toein and toeout of the car correct? So
that should be fairly easy to measure/adjust without a "real" alignment. I
would think that even after the countin to the turns I could just usa a good
tape measure and a friend to measure and set the toe to back to what it
should be. Right?
