That reminds me of a line out of a really neat Cops/Robbers movie from the '70s
...."Freebie and the Bean".....two cops are racing around San Francisco in a '72 or
so LTD, and they take the Vermont Street exit off of 101 northbound, and are going
too fast. The car sideswipes the brick wall at the side of the 90 degree turn and
goes floundering down the street.....
One says to the other...."It's a FORD...it's not a Porsche, it's a FORD!!!!"
I'm wanting to think one of the stars was Richard Gere, but it might have been
before his time.
They go through about 4 of those cars in the movie.....another place, they leap it
off the Embarcadero Freeway (now demolished, thanks to Loma Prieta) into someone's
4th floor apartment, with tires and doors flying everywhere......a GREAT movie!!!
At that time I had my Country Squire, and I sure could have used some of those parts
(and engines) they were wasting!
LOL!!
