Perhaps you guys should refer to the Helm manual for the answer to your
question. Just a quick look at the engine section reveals that the cylinder
heads are referred to as left and right, not front and rear. The crank shaft
pics have an arrow pointing to  the damper end calling it the front of the
engine. The rods have KOA on them, the instructions say the KOA goes to the
front of the engine. Even the oil pan pic has an arrow pointing to the end
by the oil pump as the front of the engine.
So if you want to convince someone that turning the engine 90 degrees in the
car changes the front to the side and the side to the front, produce an
official shop manual to back it up.
