Subject: "Hillman - " Do you Suzie Suzuki take Toni Triumph t-10...

Hi all,
Wanted to let you know how the 56 Triumph t-10 body mounted on a
Samurai chassis is going. Mid last week I finally got the time, desire,
energy and inspiration all at the same moment, and tore into the project.
Step one was to tare the body off the Suzuki, and in no time I was past the
point of no return.
Yikes, the Suzuki turns into a spunky critter, with no body. Had a
gas lot driving it, lights up the tires and real quick. No comparison to
how underpowered it was. Hated to put a body on it, but this is Iowa, not
an island paradise.
Next we reinforced the t-10 a bit more, cut the body off, put it in
the air, and drove the Suzuki under it.
I'm so glad I did my homework (thanks, guys). The fit is incredible.
Width is perfect. I saved the Suzuki firewall in its entierty, and it
stuffed right into the t-10. I saved the front half of the Suzuki floor,
and the rear half with trunk, of the Triumph. I had to lengthen the chassis
five inches, to make the 15 inch wheels stuff into the wells made for 13
inch.
The results is a pretty hot looking, very unique, understated, stump
jumper. It looks great on the bigger wheels (tires are not overly wide). I
decided to let it sit just a bit high, rather than as my original stock as
can be decision.
The only thing that concerns me about the fit, is it seems the
steering wheel is too long. I don't have a seat in it yet, but it seems the
driver might sit a bit too far back. I can shorten the steering wheel, but
that would mean the pedals will be too close. May have to do some fudging.
Worse case, I gotta drive uncomfortable, so I can look cool.
