The difference is that the SCCA and most other Solo II sanctioning bodies,
the tech inspection is purely for safety or OBVIOUS rule violations. Other
than that, it is self-governing. If a competitor thinks you are cheating,
there is a formal challenge process.

Your type of thinking is what is wrong with the world. I am all for
'stretching' the rules (I speed every time I drive) but I refuse to hide
behind the 'everyone else is doing it' excuse. If I get caught speeding, I
usually plead guilty and get on with my life.
