[Shotimes] Interesting...porting the intake

I wish you luck, and I hope you see "some" gain, but I'm not expecting much,
if anything.

Back in the "old days" of carburetors (and even TB injection setups), the
intake path flowed a fuel/air mix. Intake design was a LOT more critical
with those setups. Today, with port injection and only air flowing through
the intake, it does not appear to be as critical. In fact, the "snakes"
appear to flow air beyond what is needed for n/a engines. I know that the EH
runners and BBBs add torque through the range, but on the surface, just
opening up the surface area would not do that.....it would tend to kill
torque and bump up high-rpm power......just block your secondary butterflies
open to show that!! I suspect that the EH and BBBs really help to smooth out
airflow that helps the torque, more so than the extra flow area that they
provide.

Anyway, if nothing else, it eliminates the mismatches as a potential problem
area, but I suspect that there won't be enough for the butt dyno to feel.

I really think that with the mismatch cleaned up on eht long runners, and
some matching on the heads to the runners, some decent numbers could be
gained. I also was working on some measurements on the short runners, and I
think that there is potential there especially with the BBB's teamed up with
a set of custom intake horns. I think the horn design could be made to match
the BBB size and still give the desired venturi effect of speeding the air
up on it's way into the engine. perhaps the effect could be even enhanced.
>From what I have measured it should be possible to machine a set of horns
that would match the BBB size and retail the effective runner length and
venturi effect. But alas with everything it'll be a while till I get some
time to have a set made up.

Seeing what I see here, I have to imagine that there are some sizeable gains
to be had.
