[Shotimes] Engine Break In (WAS: Interesting...porting the intake)

Stay away from the bigger oil filter.. IMHO every time I install one I lose
time and trap speed at the track, I think it follows Porters rule about
adding the extra QT of trans fluid about stuff sloshing around in the pan
slowing things down. I know everyone does it and Ill get slammed for it but
that's what happens to me EVERYTIME on my V8 car..

Also even thought this has to make everyone laugh but I have tried the
larger filter 3 times, all 3 times I was going to a road course event and
all three times I have broken my Torque Converter. Yep I snapped something
on the track at the convention, I think it's a stator this time. Maybe its
just VooDoo - but all I know is dropping the trans again for the 5th time in
14months is getting sickening. Now I have a "super duper" converter from a
company out in the Midwest but I don't trust it, so Ill just prep the car to
make it to Lapeer in the fall and make some 13.3 runs with it on the bottle,
then bring it back tear the drive line out and get ready for the blower
installation FINALLY, a new converter that Im having made from a person that
makes 1100hp and up Power glide converters and then Ill feel safer about
some of the long trips and beating Kurt Metros on a track :)

Yeah I plan to beat the snot outta the 3.2 that I'm starting to build up.
Soon as its in my car and the oil is warmed up (dino for the breakin with my
AMSoil 1/10th micron pypass filter and a big clean m1-301) I'm gonna run the
car just like what that motorman guy says.

I'd love to try his velocity porting on a set of heads, but alas I'm not
wasting a set of head gaskets. maybe someday.
