Yup, thats what I thought, so bought an Acura MDX for the wife.  My
brother's wife got an Explorer.  She gets 20 mpg with the 4?liter V6, we get
15.3 with the 3.5l V6.  And while the engine is fine, it reminds me of the
SHO where its a high revving jewel in an overweight pig.  The Explorer has
lots of torque, pulls their trailers easily, easier than the MDX, in fact.
It will, however hold its value better.
