If improved ring sealing really does happen with this procedure then the
auto manufactures should be able to devise an at the factory procedure that
will provide the same results. The improved performance, i.e. better
compression or whatever, should also boost fuel mileage and lower emissions.
I can't beileve that the manufacturers would not take advantage of that!

Too many variables for owners to follow, and it encourages driving that is
not the "norm", hence liability issues. Also, I doubt they really care
whether someone gets the last few HP out of their engine, since most of the
driving population never gets beyond 1/2 throttle, anyway.

    They presented pictures of pistons/rings that were treated equally
except
for the different break-in methods. What kind of proof would you be looking
for?
