As I understand, D4 is an ATF, and MTL is a gear oil. Difference specs,
additives, etc.

What I have found in what I call good fluids ("good" being what the tranny
seems to like) are the things that you DON'T notice, like grinding,
balkiness, etc, in either cold or warm operation.

Ok, I'll bite, what are the characteristics of D4 in a newer MTX-IV.  In
other words, what would the driver notice?  Faster operation of the
gearbox?  If the car normally sits in warm to hot weather, will the D4
make any noticeable improvement?
