Might also try a product called paint prep.  It is used to 
remove wax and silicone before sanding and painting.  I have 
used it for years to get off tree sap, glue from stickers 
and old window tinting and any number of other things.
A quart is under 10 bucks at most paint shop supply stores.
Comes from 3m, or ppg.
