Several of us on TechSHO have been collecting flow test data on various
MAF's used on the SHO. From these tests one gets pressure drop of the MAF vs
mass or volumetric flow rate of air. At 300cfm (stock SHO at 7000 rpm) the
difference in pressure drop between a fully stock setup and an 80mm Pro-M
MAF with cone filter is equivalent to about 2-1/2% of rated hp (i.e., 5-6
hp). So it does buy something to go to a larger MAF, but it's not huge. BTW,
a 75mm Pro-M has identical pressure drop to an 80mm Ford MAF and doesn't
require an LPM.
