Oh boy, this is a "have you stopped beating your wife?" question!!!  ;-)

Those mods you describe will help top-end power.

No, that stuff slows down the velocity in the lower rpm ranges, much like
putting on 3" exhaust pipes and 3" mufflers.

Now, for some funky reason that probably has a good technical explanation,
EHing the runners and adding the BB butterflies increases torque throughout
the rpm range. These changes "should" drop velocity due to the bigger
cross-section, but they must correct some flow issue with other mild mods
that Yamaha's design doesn't handle.

If the valve size is increase say ~20% and the intake is mildly P&Ped then
the velocity would be increased correct?
