Dave,
Are you confusing the ability of a head to provide a given flow rate at
standard test conditions vs. the flow rate required to accommodate a given
hp? If, for the sake of simplicity, we assume that both engines operate at
the same efficiency, the one putting out the lower hp will need less total
air to do it. The SHO, with only 6 cylinders, will certainly be flowing more
air per cylinder though.
