[Shotimes] Steering Pump Removal/Installation

What Don said, with one exception.

Cardone recommends against using Teflon tape due to the possibility of
fragments of the tape migrating through the system and clogging valve
passages. Your local Ford dealer can provide you with the correct sealing
ring for about $0.50 each. Pick up a couple while you're at it as you'll
likely mess at least one up the first time you try putting it on the hose
fitting.

Also, make sure you remove the pulley first.

You can drain the system by disconnecting one line at the PS cooler and
catching as much as possible there. Make sure you completely flush the
system and install an inline filter. Follow the instructions here:
http://www.cardone.com/English/Club/Products/Steering/Protech/Tech_Bulletins
/pt75-20.asp to flush the system properly

Steve

its not your cam seal as previiously posted by another shotimes member. Once
u are sure its your pump than go for.

with steve that you do probably have to raise the motor a tad to get too
it.

motor high enough to get to the pump but not to high .. a few inches max.
Your exhause is still connected as is your wiring harness.

oil pan and lift the motor up a tad. When u lift just be real careful and
check all connections and exhaust so u dont go to far.

I also got from a supermarket a baster ? .. its one of those things that
have a suction cup on it that u baste turkey s with etc. I use this to suck
up the dextron III in the pwr steering resv. Works real well.

one rear. I think they are 13 mm. Than the pump high pressure line is 18mm.
Get a 5 head wrench so as not to strip it. They are hard to get off
sometimes.
