Thanks for the reminder, Dave.  Bill, the AC compressor is part of how the
alternator mounts.  To keep the alternator in position after removing the
condenser, you need to come up with a spacer (or "stand off").  I simply
used a couple of short pieces of plumbing pipe.  In the world of threaded
plumbing pipe, short pieces threaded on both ends are called nipples.  I
used two of them, 1/2" ID, 2" long, IIRC.
