[Shotimes] Strange stereo/electrical problem

The length of the ground would not cause the problem you are speaking of,
it's just a rule that's good to follow. I generally scratch some paint off
of an area near the amp on the floor and use a sheet metal screw with a
crimp on eye connector for single amp installation. What is the ground
actually attached to? 8ga is probably sufficient, I doubt you are pushing
that amp to extremes if you have the stock speakers still. Is that amp 2
ohm stable? Only the fan causes this? How about if you turn on the
headlights? Are you turning on the amp with the remote wire from the radio?
Maybe the problem isn't the amp but the radio dropping the remote signal. I
would start diagnosing by watching the voltages or use a test light on the
power wire, ground and the remote when the fan comes on. Maybe you'll see a
drop in voltage or the light dim when the fan comes on.
