[Shotimes] OT old computers (was - ISDN Anyone?)

I still have my old Atari STE.  The ST was really more of a computer,
but had way more games available than any other kind of software.
The E was an "improved" model.  It used SIMM modules for memory;
I had 4 megs in mine, which, in the early to mid 80's, was a lot.  I'd set
up a virtual ramdrive and load multi-disk games onto it and get no load
times.  It also had an internal 3-1/2" drive, stereo sound with RCA jacks
for external speakers, and an internal clock.

A lot of the games for the ST were very cool; including many true
3d games.  I've got tons of games and programs still.  The thing that
hurt the Atari computers was their reluctance to allow anyone else
to produce hardware for it.  For a color moitor you were limited to
Atari's small 9" sreen at 320x200 dpi.  Had they beefed up the
video they could have been a strong competitor during the emergence
of the home PC.
