If the gas is decent quality, and it's not 105 degrees out, and the SHO is
in good working order, it'll run on 87/89 ok.  Sometimes in the summer you
can hear a little detonation and car will be a little doggier (EEC yanking
timing and throwing fuel at it) on 87, but in cooler air no biggie.

Last June my 92 ran the fastest 1/4 mile ever in it's 180,000 mile life,
14.70 @ 95.4 mph with full spare, junk in the trunk, 3/4 tank of fuel, on
street SP8000's...all on 87 pump!

Been running 20w50 in it ever since it digested a broken cat from the PP
ypipe (doesn't use as much oil :)  Soon it will inherit the 3.2L from the 89
and the 89 will be powered by a hamster on a wheel (hey it's 450 lbs
lighter)
