Ahh, the infamous "phantom pinging that can't be heard"!!

Well, it's like Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy.....some believe in it,
others of us don't.

Just remember that the knock sensor works on a sound frequency. Pinging can
be heard over the sound of open headers (BTDT)!!

Maybe.  But there's also a good chance the computer will pull out timing
and you'll never know it.  Performance will suffer.  I would never run
less than 89 in the hot summer months.  The SHO needs all the timing it
can get.  It helps with throttle responsiveness at slower speeds.

So you're saying I could get away w/ the cheap gas 
except maybe in the hottest summer months?(!) COOL!
