Don,

Had this happen to me once in a 1958 Impala I had a few 
years ago.  Driving into a car show in a park I was going 
maybe 5mph at most and went to turn into a parking area 
(with telephone poles laid down as the barriers) and the 
brake pedal went to the floor.  Repeated stabbing did 
nothing, so I hit the foot pedal for parking brakes and got 
it stopped right before hitting those telephone poles.

Even at 5mph it felt like all of a sudden the car sped up to 50!

Power booster MC had leaked out all the fluid in just a few 
miles.

There IS something to be said for the newer dual brake systems!
