I do the same, and I've been asking MS for years to allow the user to sort
subject by download (sort the messages you just received by subject). It's a
quite simple function that would add tremendous value to outlook, but they
seem to not be interested in providing really useful tools.

What I think I might start doing is stop filtering into folders, and sort
the inbox by subject. I'd need to sort every message to the proper folder
after reading. Since you can't click-and-drag in outlook and therefore must
move each message individually, it might not be worth it.
