The half-TPR (actually, I think the OEM pieces are polyurethane, you're
talking about the red ones, right?) strut rod bushings are to prevent
massive toe change under hard acceleration.
It's rubber on the front side to preserve ride quality, though something
stiffer (like the Moog TPR) will help stability under hard braking.
I suspect any difference in feel has more to do with spring and
strut-damping rates and with the higher effort valving in the SHO rack.
