But don't forget to take into consideration that conductor will see an
increase in resistance as the temperature of the conductor rises.  Factor in
a .85 multiplier for safety margin and I wouldn't feel comfortable using 14
ga wire on a pair of 100 watt bulbs.  14 ga is only good for 15 amps.  Then
add in the extra draw from the flash to pass feature.  I forsee smoke
signals on the horizon.  #12 minimum and there is no such thing as "too
large" when you are talking current carriers.
