Well, bigger is always better ;-)  but good engineering practice would
dictate using the smallest wire that would be effective.  10 feet of 14 ga.
would have .025 ohms; in a (say) 100W light harness this 10' of wire would
be dropping about .2W.  The reality is that this would work fine; the
connections, relay contacts etc. would contribute a bigger drop than the
wire.  But again, bigger.......
