[Shotimes] Temp Readings

Sounds to me like it is just your gauge sender showing you a low reading. 
The fan is controlled by a different sensor that tells the PCM to turn the 
fan on. It is easy to replace and mine was only about $8 at a dealer, 
probably half that at Autozone.
