I purchased the mini-bra from Ford for my '95 a couple of years ago. The
first time I used it, I installed the hood portion and pieces that wrap
around the cornering lamps. After my first trip through the mountains with
the cornering lamp pieces on, they never fit quite right and allowed a ton
of sand and gravel to get in there and scratch the paint a little.
Now I only use the hood portion of the bra, and only on long trips in the
winter, where I know I'll be dealing with flying gravel. I also only
install it if the hood is clean, remove it once I get to my destination, and
clean the hood before reinstalling it for the trip home or simply leave it
off.
The bra fits quite snugly on the hood when installed and looks great when
its on there, but I don't dare leave it on very long, as it always retains
water and dirt that needs to be washed away before reinstalling. It has
saved the leading edge of my hood though - the uncovered bumper has a lot of
chips...
