I have done it twice. It's pretty tough without a lift. Do you have a big
selection of tools? I used two jack stands and my floor jack. Use two people
when dropping and stabbing it back in. Plan on replacing other stuff while
everything is apart. It is so much easier! Subframe bushings, sway bar
bushings, P/S rack and mounts, any suspension repair. It will all be out in
the open! I pressure washed and painted my subframe when it was out of the
car. I prefer to use FPS built trannys. People have rebuilt them on there
own too. Always use the TransGo shift kit! Cost from FPS will be about $2200
with shipping. I have 55K miles on one unit and 15K miles on the second unit
so far.
