At the risk of being flamed from here to kingdom come...

Asbestos has been banned from usage for ANY purpose for a good many years.
The reason being that Asbestos fibers are barb shaped and will lodge in your
lungs and cannot be gotten out. Once they are in your lungs they cause
cancer. I have worked in several old manufacturing plants that had used
asbestos to insulate steam piping. You would not believe the precautions
that one has to go through before handling asbestos. I seriously doubt that
the material to make an asbestos friction lining can be purchased anymore
ANYWHERE with the possible exception of the former Soviet Union and
considering that the material has to be shaped by grinding in order to make
a brake pad, I'm SURE that no reputable manufacturer would even touch the
stuff. Furthermore, stop to consider what type of containment vessel would
be required to manufacture the pads in. After all the gyrations one would
have to go through in order to safely manufacture the pads, the cost would
be so high that you might as well just make a brand new SHO out of pure
gold, it would be cheaper than a set of asbestos brake pads. Then consider
the risks to your health (and everyone else's) after you have installed and
used the pads for some time. Whenever you work on brakes, you inhale some
of the brake dust. In this case you will be inhaling asbestos powder which
is still barb shaped and will lodge in your lungs.

In short, anyone that seriously listens to this "mysteryman" is a fool and
anyone that sends him money is even more foolish.
