Dave, Steve, Ron and Randy:
THANKS for your posts. Ground wire was connected. Negative battery cable
looks okay. Strangely enough, I was able to start it today with a jump..
pulled it into the garage and onto some ramps. Looks like the antifreeze
leak has been plugged, but I'm spilling oil from somewhere (i'm guessing
rear valve cover gaskets must not have set properly (the weekend is shot
again). Anyway I took the battery back to Sears and asked them to test it
under load. Battery is good. So, it looks like you guys are right -
starter is the prime suspect. I'll check SHOforum for feedback on starter
installation... anyone know if its easy? ("easy" being incredibly relative i
know) (smile)
