I've said this before, and will repeat. Scott Patterson is some sort of
nuclear engineer, so he's probably pretty bright. That said, I'm amazed
that he has formulated a strong opinion based on anecdotal evidence. Synth.
oil is not miracle stuff, and if you abuse it by not changing your
thermostat when you should, or run high revs while cold, or running too
long, then there will be problems. IF you change your oil every 3000 miles,
then dino, GTX for example, would be just fine. But that takes 2-3 times
the natural resources and time and hassle than if you use synthetic,
changing every 6-10K based upon analysis, and good filtering.
