In general, that's what I recommend to new SHO owners, most of whom I talk to have
MTXs. I suggest they find a gear that keeps the engine going 2000 rpm, more or
less, at any given speed. That'd be for 20 or so mph, 2nd gear... 30 or so, 3rd
gear, etc. That keeps the revs at around 2000, and so doesn't lug, and also
doesn't waste gas, as well as giving you some torque if you need it for gettng out
of trouble, if necessary.
When I do drive a car with ATX....the Slorider or the departed Sable wagon or CV, I
keep it out of OD in town, to do the same thing....save gas, but save the bearings,
too.
