I believe the Gen 1 rear qtr windows are glued in, just like the windshield
and back glass, with a black tar'like substance. To get the glas out you use
one of two spcial tools (or both). Option 1 consists of two handles with a
length of flexible piano wire running between them. You station yourself and
a buddy, each with a handle end,  either side of the window and cut thru the
glue with the wire. Option 2 has an l-shaped knife edge at the end of a
handle. This knife edge is run under the glass, thru the glue, as an
alternative method. I tried the latter approach on a windshield and found it
rather challenging.
