[Shotimes] Lost Ignition Key Rep

A couple options. One is to buy a new cylinder and get a new key, but
I would be tempted to have a new key made at a locksmith. If you got
a price of $100, I'd say find a new locksmith.

My car came without a trunk key. A local locksmith made one by using
a blank and "reading" the tumbler marks on it to grind a new key. It
took a few tries but he eventually got it. And he did it on the car. Only
charged me $10 or so for 2 keys. Of course if he has to come to your
house it might cost more. Or you can take your cylinder out and take it in.

Subject: [Shotimes] Lost Ignition Key Replacement

Just bought a 89 SHO that does not have an ignition key. Locksmith wants
a cost of $100.00 to make a key
which is a third of the cost of the car. Ford dealers say they have no
records of VIN versus key code older
than 96. Not that I am cheap, but only parsimonious in my hope to keep
the costs down and my AWA happy.
Anyone have an idea of how to get a key at a lower cost?
Thanks in advance for any good and low cost ideas.
