website is www.shoacop.com I believe
The SHOACOP site has been taken down. Nook (aka James) does live in the
Salt Lake City area and runs a shop called Prosuspension
(www.prosuspension.com). I'm not sure if he does 60Ks, but you might ask
him, since he helped me with mine when I purchased my SHO through him up in
Portland. I bet there's someone else in the SLC area that could help you
out if James can't.
I am sure the Firestone place is just getting the tune up data off their
computer based on your mileage with a generic rate quote. The information
in the computer is most likely wrong, and assumes a valve adjustment on the
SHO is just a simple procedure as in most cars, not replacing shims to get
the valves in spec.
Chances are none of their techs have ever seen a SHO engine and will crap as
soon as they open the hood. $314 sounds to good to be true, and probably
is. If they were even willing to attempt it after opening the hood, I bet
once they cracked open the valve covers they would have NO idea what to do.
If you weren't there, I'd bet they'd reinstall the valve covers (screwing up
the gaskets in the process) and intake, and say they adjusted them if they
even went that far. Those shops are notorious for not performing the work
they charge out, and I wouldn't trust a Firestone shop one second inside my
SHO engine.
