[Shotimes] 3.2 swap into a MTX

I have done several 3.2 conversions .... opps .... told myself I wouldn't
do my morse code ! ha

The shotimes faq's is very helpful but there are a few bits of additional
information that is required to do the change over.

When I do a engine conversion .... I have found the easiest way to remove
the motor is to remove the tranny and motor as one assembly. The subframe
never comes out there for no alignment is needed.

One point that I don't think is covered in shotimes is there is a
dowel/steel pin that is used by the MTX timing belt tensioner has to be
relocated on the 3.2 block. Those pins are real hard to get out but the pin
in the 3.2 has to be removed and re-inserted 2 inches to the right to line
up for the mtx tensioner. Along with this, you have to remove the stud that
holds the atx tensioner in place and remove it. This stud/bolt I believe is
a different length ( might be wrong ) from the one used by the MTX tensioner
and you should use the the MTX bolt/stud. I have bought several after market
of the smaller dowel/pins that are close in size and have red loc-tited
them in versus using the original pins that I have mangled getting out !

Besides this I believe the swap as per shotimes faq's is pretty straight
forward. Also I do use the atx mounting bracket for the coil and just order
3.2 wires. Personal preference. I also drill and tap holes for the mtx motor
mount which makes my job a lot easier to hoist the new motor into my
customers car.

Lastly ... with a motor out .. even a motor with very low miles ( my 3.2 has
73,000 miles on it ) it is still advisable to replace all seals; front and
rear mains and check rod bearings for wear. New oil pan seals, new cps and a
new waterpump ( assuming the old mtx waterpump is aged ) to me are the
basic must have.

In my case, on my personal motor, I took the 3.2 heads and had set of 3.0
heads put on that were ported and polished. This is an exception for most
3.2 conversions. Most will use the existing heads but I do recommend taking
your old 3.0 intake cams out and use them versus the 3.2 cams.
