I'm bored, so here's a hare-brained idea...

Going by the assumption that the best point in the RPM range for
acceleration is at the torque peak, then a great idea for an MTX would be to
build a circuit that would determine, according to speed, which gear would
get you closest to that peak RPM, and display that gear # on an LCD.  This
would eliminate the guesswork and save at least a second of reaction time
when engaging in impromptu rolling street races.  Not that I condone such
immature, irresponsible behavior, of course.  ;o)
