I think I still used the original sized oil plug also. There is some tweaking involved to keep the pipe from touching the oil pan. In fact there 'may' be room to trim the curved pipe 1/2" to 1 1/2" since there is plenty of overlap and that could push the piping back from the oil pan a bit. 

The biggest problem I had/have was getting a socket on one of the foreward manifold studs. Weird angle with the subframe in the way. IIRC Nunnally informed me of hacking a little off a deep well socket so it will fit well using a universal. I will be doing this myself when a warm front blows back through here.
