[Shotimes] (Recommendations Please) Timing Light

Hello,

I was in Autozone the other day and was looking at timing lights.
I would like to get one.

Is there a specific type or brand I should get?

Also I had my car tuned at FPS and I noticed they used a hand held tool that connected to the starter that allowed them to
press a button that would ever so slightly rotate the crank so that clearance could be checked on the valve shims.

What is that?  I have to do a valve shim check on my nissan and want to get one.
