I've owned 9 Tauruses -- 6 of them SHO's.  Only the first 92 I bought
gave me *any* trouble.  IN fact, the SLO's were bulletproof (87-90-93)
with no service other than oil changes.  They were all bought new.  The
first SHO I bought new (94), was similar--never a problem after 75K
miles.  The 97 lost a transmission (covered under warranty).  Other than
that, they were and are wonderful cars.  Build quality?  Only my 92
Emerald Green showed any problems.  It was just a crappy car.  Glad I
totaled it -- it would have cost me more.
