There's another factor at work, also. 250K+ miles in a (relatively) warm,
sunny climate is also much easier on a car than a daily driver from the snow
belt (with the accompanying salt). Back when we had the High-Mileage judging
class at the Convention, there were high-mileage southern '89s that looked
better than mine did after it was 1-2 years old! Mine was getting pretty bad
body rot when it was 5 years old.

I agree. I have some little issues here and there with the Lowrider, but it
looks
pretty spiffy for its age, when I bother to clean it up. Missed a bronze at
Frederick by THAT MUCH!!
There need to be some age/mileage factors included in the grading somehow.
I am addressing its issues one at a time....maybe its final convention will
give it
a little bit of glory. At the current rate of accumulation, it will have
around
280K by that time.
