[Shotimes] Rip-Off on E-bay

Caveat emptor. We as a society have not taken responsibility for own
actions for so long, we feel it is our right to blame someone else for
everything.
Is there anything wrong with this guy buying these things for $10 around the
corner at his local Chevy dealer, then selling them for $30? If there is,
our whole free enterprise system is wrong. We might as well scrap this
system and go straight to communism. The guy is not breaking any laws (I
don't know of any laws that states that one cannot buy something, then sell
it for more than one has paid).
Unless he is just blatently misrepresenting these items, like showing a
picture of a trick looking carbon fiber STB, then delivering a steel rod is
wrong. OK, just looked at the auction in question... He shows pictures of
the actual bar, no misrepresentation there. He doesn't reveal his source of
the product in question, however. If you were trying to make a few bucks
(OK, 2.6 times the amount you have invested), would you reveal YOUR sources?
I think not.
Would I buy from this guy? Knowing that these bars are available cheaper
elsewhere, no, I would not. If I didn't know, I probably would, and feel I
got a decent deal. It's like buying gas. Have you guys/gals ever been in a
different town, stopped to buy gas at a place whose prices where 5 cents
cheaper than what you are used to paying, then 2 miles down the road seen
the same brand of gas 10 cents cheaper?
Sure, he is playing on people's noninformation of the availability of these
items. Is it ethical? Maybe. Maybe not, but nobody HAS to buy or bid on
his auctions. This goes back to caveat emptor. When I buy things, I try to
find the cheapest way I can get something with good quality (I don't buy
cheaply made stuff). I will try to do as much research as I can, and ask as
many questions as I can, then I will buy the item if I feel that is the best
or competitive pricing I can get.
