Hi guys,
I'm doing some thinking on Mobil-1's recommendations.
Their 15-50W:
"Excellent for supercharged and turbocharged engines, muscle cars and
amateur racers."
Their 10-30:
"Outstanding wear protection, even under the most extreme conditions."
They recommend 15-50 for turbo applications, but wouldn't a 10-30 be better?
I mean, isn't heat the #1 killer of turbos? If it isn't #1 then it would be
#2 behind viscosity breakdown (metal to metal contact), right?
So if you're following my train of thought, I'm thinking that the 10-30 will
flow faster through the components thereby removing more heat in more time.
So why do they recommend the 15-50? I asked them in an e-mail, but it'll
probably be six months before they type back and then, they'll just tell me
to read my owner's manual.
Thanks for your thoughts,
Koll
