You just touched on an interesting memory.  My chemistry teacher used to say
heigth all the time.  He was a great teacher, just couldn't stand it when he
said heigth though.  It drove the class nuts.

Another one that seems to have permeated the lexicon of plumbers,
carpenters, and others of that ilk is the mispronunciation of the word
"height".

Phonetically:  correct - 'hite'
		   plumber language(incorrect) - 'hithe'

Now, being an engineer I'm certainly one for uniformity and consistency,
but the 3 dimensions are:  lengTH, widTH, and height.  Not HEIGTH
!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been living down here in TX for the last month and these Texans
speak some other language - it's close to English but not really.  :^)
