My chem teacher always looked at the floor.
He once told us "I've never seen so many kids come in the entrance and
go out the exit". He was so flustered, especially after he tried to
correct himself and we were all laughing.
Oh the memories.
I learned once that we "were walking on thin water".
And that if you do such and such, you can "do a complete 360" (instead
of a 180)
I work in a bank. I hate it when people say "checkings" account. It is
SavingS account and Checking account. No S on the end of checking!!!

You just touched on an interesting memory. My chemistry teacher used to
say heigth all the time. He was a great teacher, just couldn't stand it
when he said heigth though. It drove the class nuts.

My 7th grade CHEMISTRY teacher used to say "nuculus"!!!!!!!!!!!! Pissed
me off to no end 22 years ago and it still pisses me off today.
Another one that seems to have permeated the lexicon of plumbers,
carpenters, and others of that ilk is the mispronunciation of the word
"height".
Phonetically: correct - 'hite'
plumber language(incorrect) - 'hithe'
Now, being an engineer I'm certainly one for uniformity and consistency,
but the 3 dimensions are: lengTH, widTH, and height. Not HEIGTH
!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been living down here in TX for the last month and these Texans
speak some other language - it's close to English but not really. :^)
