Ok, I got my Remanufactured A/C clutch, Factory Air 48853, from Autozone.com. I think it looks horrible and I don't trust it. They simply resurfaced the hub and pulley surfaces, and not very well. The clutch surface now is not very high above the rivets, and having looked at the clutch on my A/C, it's worn down to the rivets already. Another thing I don't understand: If both pieces are resurfaced and metal taken off, how would I achieve the correct gap between the hub and pulley? It seems even leaving out both the shims, there would be an excessive gap. Anyone have any comments about remanufactured A/C clutches? Mark N.--You said you've had good results with Autozone clutches, is that brand-new, or "remanufactured"? They didn't offer new units on their website. I guess I'll spend the extra 30 dollars or so for a new unit.
