Thanks for the suggestions, everybody-- turns out it was the swaybar 
endlinks.  Cranked it a little tighter, and suddenly the rattle is as 
occasional as it was back in February, rather than the constant tappity 
sound that it had become in recent weeks!  I'll tighten it up a little 
further still the next time I've got my car's rear end off the ground (I 
need to get another box-end wrench-- I don't feel comfortable tightening 
things up much with a crescent wrench on one end and a box-end on the 
other side)...  In the meantime, it's a pretty wicked improvement! 
 Probably the cheapest repair I've ever made on my SHO!
